Urea should be stored in cool, dry conditions away from direct sunlight. Recommended storage is below 30°C with relative humidity under 65% to prevent caking. Sealed packaging should be maintained until use.

Prilled urea is formed by solidification of droplets in cooling towers, creating spherical particles typically 1-2.5mm in diameter. Granular urea is produced through a granulation process, creating larger (2-4mm), more irregular shaped particles with higher crush strength, preferred for blending and spreading in agriculture.

Standard agricultural urea begins converting to plant-available forms within 2-4 days of soil application, with peak availability typically 7-14 days after application depending on soil conditions. Coated and inhibitor-treated formulations offer extended release patterns of 30-90 days.

Biuret, a urea condensation product, can cause phytotoxicity in certain crops at elevated levels. Our agricultural grade maintains biuret below 1%, while foliar application grades and special crop formulations offer reduced biuret levels below 0.3%.
